School Curriculum

The school enjoys a deserved reputation for outstanding academic results and has a plan for continuous improvement and development to ensure that the education provided continues to meet the ever changing demands of the twenty first century.  St. Anne’s has an excellent teaching staff who set the highest standards for behaviour and intellectual development. The curriculum is kept as wide as possible for as long as possible, ensuring that each girl has the opportunity to identify her academic strengths and interests.  All Junior and Leaving Certificate subjects are offered initially at Higher level with the option of Ordinary level as the need arises.

Leaving Certificate Subjects

St. Anne’s enjoys a deserved reputation for outstanding academic results and well over ninety per cent of our students proceed to further education, entering a wide range of professions and occupations. Students take seven subjects for Leaving Certificate examination.

Students also have classes in physical education, guidance counselling, computer studies and enterprise education as part of the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP)

Transition Year

St. Anne’s has a long established and very successful optional Transition Year Programme. Students are prepared academically and personally for Leaving Certificate and also experience the world of employment with four weeks work placement. For most students in transition year the highlight of their year is the school musical, presented in co-operation with the Abbey. Other core features of the programme include the ECDL, driving lessons and the ‘An Gaisce’ Presidents Award.
