Congratulations to Transition Year student Irina Pojar who had the honour of representing Tipperary County in Dáil na nÓg, Ireland’s National Youth Parliament, last Friday in Leinster House.
Irina’s participation in this important national forum is a wonderful accomplishment that highlights the strength of student leadership and engagement here at our school.
Delegates voted to prioritise the Irish language in education as their national focus for the next two years, with continuous assessment also featuring prominently in discussions. This will now be submitted as the top recommendation from young people at Dáil na nÓg to the Convention on Education, helping to shape Ireland’s education system into the future.
They also had the opportunity to meet a number of key national figures, including Tánaiste Simon Harris TD, Minister Emer Higgins TD, Mary Lou McDonald TD, Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD, Pearse Doherty TD, and Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy.
