For many years St. Anne’s and The Abbey CBS have produced a joint annual Musical.  This has been a very successful venture between the two schools, often with more than 100 pupils gracing the floorboards of the Excel Stage.

The Transition Year Musical is usually staged in late November or early December. Auditions for leading roles take place in September and rehearsals commence in September also.

The Musical is a very formative experience for our students, with many assuming leadership roles in relation to choreography.  The experience of the show brings out the best in students and confidence grows and students blossom throughout.  Many students are introduced to stage-craft and musicals during their Transition Year show and go on to take roles with Tipperary Musical Society and other stage groups afterwards.  Our girls love the experience of the Transition Year Show and also cherish the time it affords them with the boys from The Abbey CBS!!

Shows produced by St. Anne’s and The Abbey CBS in recent years include Snow White, Footloose, Grease, Mamma Mia, Guys and Dolls.
